Adding records

Citizen science records
As part of our work to understand the invaluable contributions of Citizen Science to environmental data collection, we ask that if your UKEOF Catalogue record has data collected through Citizen Science activity, that you give your record the Keyword 'Citizen Science'. This can be done by selecting (under the 'Categorisation' heading) the 'Add' field to the right of the 'Keyword Group'. You then start to type 'Citizen Science' and the auto type will generate the full word and a link to a standard definition of this term. Click 'OK' and this keyword will be added to your record. Leave the 'Category' field as 'uncategorised'. If you have any queries about this tagging , please contact the UKEOF office .

To add a new record, click on the editor menu in the menu bar and select the record type from the dropdown menu.

An editor form will open.  Complete the fields as appropriate - see the list of fields for detailed guidance.

Before saving your record you must choose a publication state. This will determine who will be able to view the record you have just created:

  • Public - The record will be publicly available to all users of the catalogue
  • Sensitive - The record will only be available to logged in users (i.e. members of the UKEOF community
  • Private - The record will only be available to your organisation (and the UKEOF database administrators)

Once all fields are complete, click the Save button.
